Credit is the mainstay of the nation’s business. It usually allows a business to expand more rapidly and complete more projects than would otherwise be possible. However, it is based on the continued good faith of all parties to a transaction. In order for us to meet our suppliers’ credit terms, we expect that our customers will honor our credit terms. You have agreed to the following terms:
1) Our standard payment terms are NET 10TH PROXIMO which means the balance is due by the 10th of the month following the purchase. This means that if you make a purchase on the 5th of the month, you are not expected to pay until the 10th of the following month (approximately 36 days). Likewise, if you make a purchase on the 28th of the month, payment is still due by the 10th of the following month. We are required by law to mail all sales taxes invoiced each month to the state on the 20th of the following month.
2) You are afforded a grace period until the end of the month that payment is due when we close our books before a finance charge is applied. We would much prefer to have timely payments and not have to collect these interest charges. Prompt payments enable us to serve you better by maintaining a complete inventory. As in all credit transactions, finance charges are expected to be paid.
3) Reminders are sent to all accounts 30 days past due. Another reminder is sent at 45 days. When a balance reaches 60 days there is a stop put on all credit purchases until the account is brought into a current status. The status of your account for future credit purchases will be reevaluated at that time.
4) Ninety days past due is the end of the line. At that point you must contact us personally to arrange payment terms. Failure to do so will force us to place the account in the hands of an attorney for legal proceedings. In the credit application you have agreed to pay all expenses and legal fees (usually 33% to 50% of the balance) incurred for collection of the account.
If you get in trouble on a project, you must talk to us. We can be very sympathetic and even helpful in trying to straighten out the situation. However, when an account in trouble clams up, doesn’t return phone calls, or doesn’t play it straight we have no alternative but to proceed with the actions outlined above. The choice is yours.
FAQs Regarding Custom Selection At PASVALCO, your complete satisfaction is very important to us and we will try to do whatever it takes to meet your expectations within the limits of our pricing structure and manpower availability. Therefore, we ask that you consider the following limitations as reasonable and proper.
1) All of our pricing on standard items is based on full bundles/pallets that are shipped out the same way they arrive here. To remove material from full pallets causes significant additional operating expenses that must be considered.
2) On occasion we will allow certain pallets to be opened or selected from at an additional charge. This selection is from the top only and digging into a pallet will require paying for the whole pallet.
3) Our yard employees are there for your assistance in loading, but they are only allowed to take material from the top and load your vehicle. They are instructed to assist contractors first and limit the time allowed each customer based on the quantity of material purchased.
4) You are welcome to spend as much time as necessary to make your selection on your own with your own helpers as long as your selection is from the top only and only from pallets designated as available for selection.
In order to better serve your needs, we have attempted for many years to avoid charging deposits on pallets. It has always been our philosophy that pallet deposits are a good way to irritate customers and cause great confusion. Instead we have relied on the good graces of our customers to return the pallets in good condition on completion of their project. However, recently this policy has been misused by several and now must be changed.
Effective immediately, PASVALCO will no longer accept any empty pallets other than bluestone pallets with end gates included. We will continue with our no deposit policy, but the return of flat pallets will no longer be accepted. EMPTY PALLETS ARE NOT RETURNABLE - EXCEPT BLUESTONE PALLETS
Credit cards have become a standard medium of exchange for almost everything and every day use. Their use benefits both the customer and the supplier in many ways. PASVALCO is happy to take Master Card, Visa, Discover and American Express. To maintain fairness to all, credit card purchases are subject to the following policies:
1) For your protection, we do not retain credit card information after the time of purchase. When making a payment over the phone, please make sure you have your credit card number available. Please also have the security code (if applicable) as well as the street number and zip code of the card’s billing address handy as all are required to process the transaction.
2) Credit cards will not be accepted for PASVALCO accounts after material has been delivered or picked up. Therefore, please remember that if you want to pay by credit card to get your points or airline miles, you cannot wait until the end of the billing cycle to present your card.
3) Our pricing and credit terms for accounts are based on prompt payment either by cash or credit card at the time of purchase or by cash or check by the 10th of the following month. Delayed payments incur finance charges. Because of the fees involved, you cannot have it both ways and pay by credit card after waiting for the month end billing cycle.
We thank you for choosing PASVALCO as your supplier for this project. We consider it a privilege to have the opportunity to serve you and want know what you may or may not expect from our delivery service. Your order is important to us and requires that we keep our people and our equipment in tip-top shape for safe, reliable service to you and the next customer.
1) Deliveries are scheduled a minimum of 24 hours in advance. We will try to meet your timing for AM or PM deliveries as best we can, but know from experience that it is impossible to arrange your delivery to the hour.
2) Trucking charges are set based on zones. Because of the unique nature of this business and the typical size and weight of orders, each delivery is set up individually and priced accordingly. We do not have a scheduled route.
3) Traffic, equipment problems, emergencies, and unforeseen delays all cause havoc with a schedule. Regular stops by DOT enforcement officers often delay our trucks over an hour and on occasion we have been stopped as many as 3 times in one day just to inspect our load, equipment, and drivers to ensure compliance with the law. Accordingly, we recommend you do not schedule workers to be on a job before the material has arrived.
4) We cannot be responsible for any damages beyond the curb line. If we are requested to enter your property, please remember that the trucks are big and heavy. Our drivers are instructed to place the materials in an area only as far as the truck can safely go.
5) PASVALCO only employs highly qualified, courteous drivers. They are specifically charged with the safety of the equipment and are authorized to make the call on what is safe and what is unsafe use of our equipment. If our driver informs you that the material cannot be safely placed where you want it, it is for a very good reason based on long time experience. The office will always stand behind the driver. Towing charges for large trucks are usually a minimum of $350 and damages to the equipment can cost in the tens of thousands. Are you willing to accept that responsibility? Our drivers are responsible and will act accordingly.
6) Additional boom service or moving material around jobsites is available if prearranged so that it doesn’t interfere with the delivery schedule. The charge is $120 per hour. We will be happy to recommend a contractor to move your material or install your project. FAQs Regarding Potential Damages At PASVALCO we try hard to satisfy your needs, however, our driver has determined that it is not safe for your property or our truck to place this material where you want it to be placed. Please understand, the delivery of building materials requires heavy duty, expensive equipment that meets all state and federal highway regulations. We are not delivering pizza, flowers, or mattresses and therefore ask that you please understand the following policies:
